    • Age 5-7 - No play when heat index above 96 degrees, court temp is higher than 100 degrees. Kids are in the "heat/humidity zone" which is within 40 inches of the court. No play when temp/wind chill below 40 degrees.
    • Age 8-11 - No play when heat index above 102 degrees or court temp is above 108 degrees. No play when temp/wind chill below 38 degrees.
    • Age 11-18 - No play when heat index above 105 degrees or court temp is above 115 degrees. No play when temp/wind chill below 32 degrees.

    • Age 19-55 - No play when court temp above 115 degrees. No play when temp/wind chill below 32 degrees.

All sessions are pre-planned based on age and level of play with both technical (skill) and tactical (game/court intelligence) components for singles and doubles play:

15% - Warm Up Activities (physical skills).  Activities are chosen to warm up the muscles and create movement for what will be practiced during Skill and Game Play Development.  Warm Up Activities may be with and/or without the racquet.  Examples of activities:  Foot Drills, conditioning drills, easy stroke warm up of forehand, backhand, serve, volley, overhead.

35% - Skill Development and Teaching Points.  Discussion of not only what (the technical) will be practiced during the session, but also the why's and when/how (the tactical, court strategy zones) to use during actual game play.

40% - Game Play Development.  The best way to 'own' a stroke and become more proficient is by practice, practice, practice.  And the best way for practice is to have as close to actual competitive play as possible.  The expectation is that during Game Play Development, each player is focusing on performing and thus integrating into their routine the technical aspects just practiced in the Skills development instruction.

10% - Cool down.  To not only let your body come back to a restful, relaxed state, but to also discuss what was just learned and what you may need to practice and work on.  Do not worry if during Game Play that you made too many errors or did not get the best form or just do not yet feel comfortable.  Tennis is a game of never ending practice and refinement.  Learning a new technique sometimes takes more than one 90 minute session!!
